Patriot
Kenny, a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps, was mobilized for both the Persian Gulf War and Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is a proven leader with 26 years of dedicated military service. Positive leadership and leadership by example is what the Menominee County Sheriff Department will get when you elect Kenny Marks!
Law Officer
Kenny Marks has 17 years of law enforcement experience. Kenny previously worked for the Edina Police Department in Minnesota. He served as a Patrol Officer, S.W.A.T. Officer, Tactical Sniper, D.A.R.E. Officer and was very active in counter-drug operations. Drug prevention and enforcement-- his specialty. Kenny served as a Menominee County Correctional Deputy, Road Patrol Deputy and Undersheriff during which time he gained a reputation for problem solving and maintained honest communications with the Menominee County Board of Commissioners. Kenny Marks currently works as a City of Stephenson Police Officer.
Veterans Advocate
Kenny currently serves as the County Veterans Service Officer. During 2007, the Veterans Administration reported 10 million dollars in compensation, pension, health and education benefits were paid to Menominee County veterans and dependants during 2007, a 4 million dollar increase from the 2006 statistics. Kenny finds solutions to problems, rather than complaining about them. He maximizes the use of limited resources. Up to six months ago, his additional job responsibilities included web page, network security and email server administration. The County's data and telephone system was obsolete and very expensive to maintain. Kenny took the lead and organized a project that led to the installation of a new data and voice system in County Government and a new County web portal known as menomineecounty.com. Information Technology is no longer a Veterans Officer duty; it is contracted out to a local vendor who has the right resources to do the job. The Veteran's Officer can now concentrate solely on serving the veterans in Menominee County while the County saves money on information systems.
Visionary
When Kenny was the Menominee County Undersheriff he had a vision that the Sheriff Department needed to develop business values. The Customer Service signs on the outside wall of the Sheriff Department and in the side entry way reflect the values he seeded within the Sheriff Department. Some of those values include but are not limited to, responsiveness, accountability, communications, decisiveness, integrity and service to community. Kenny Marks wants to continue with the implementation of the business values that he started in 2004. Please vote for Kenny Marks and put him back in the Sheriff Department where he can lead the deputies to meet the needs of the residents of Menominee County.
